This is a community project

Fair Lawn Apps is an independent project built and maintained by a Fair Lawn, NJ resident. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Borough of Fair Lawn, the Fair Lawn Recreation Department, the Maurice M. Pine Free Public Library, or any other municipal entity.

References to "Fair Lawn," facility names, and municipal services are for identification purposes only and do not imply any official relationship.

Data accuracy

All schedule, event, and status information displayed in Fair Lawn Apps is automatically gathered from publicly available sources, primarily fairlawn.org, the BCCLS library calendar, and other public pages. This data is refreshed every 3 hours.

Because this information is collected automatically:

• Schedules may be delayed, incomplete, or incorrect
• Changes made on source websites between refresh cycles will not appear immediately
• Formatting changes on source websites may temporarily break data collection
• Facility hours, event details, and availability should always be confirmed directly with the facility

If you spot something wrong, let us know and it will be looked into.

Not a replacement for official emergency services

The Alerts section of Fair Lawn Apps displays information about water advisories, snow emergencies, road closures, hydrant flushing, and mosquito spraying gathered from public notices. This is not a substitute for official emergency notifications.

• Always follow instructions from official Borough communications, local police, and emergency services
• Do not rely solely on Fair Lawn Apps for time-sensitive safety information
• Alert notifications may be delayed due to the 3-hour data refresh cycle
• For emergencies, call 911
• For Borough updates, visit fairlawn.org or sign up for official Borough notifications

Push notifications

Push notifications are delivered on a best-effort basis. They may be delayed, not delivered, or contain outdated information. Notification delivery depends on your device, browser, operating system, and network connection, none of which are under the control of Fair Lawn Apps.

You can manage or disable notifications at any time through the Settings page or through your device's notification settings.

No warranty

Fair Lawn Apps is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties, express or implied. There is no guarantee that:

• The apps will be available at all times
• Information displayed will be accurate, complete, or current
• Notifications will be delivered on time or at all
• The service will be free from errors or interruptions

This is a free community project maintained in spare time. Downtime, bugs, and data gaps happen. The goal is to be as helpful and reliable as possible, but no promises are made.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the maintainer of Fair Lawn Apps is not liable for any damages arising from the use of or inability to use this service. This includes, but is not limited to, damages resulting from:

• Inaccurate or outdated information
• Missed or delayed notifications
• Reliance on information displayed in the apps
• Service interruptions or data loss

User conduct

Features like gym occupancy reporting and "Going" counts rely on honest, good-faith participation from users. Deliberate misuse or manipulation of these community features undermines their value for everyone.

Accessibility

Fair Lawn Apps is built with accessibility in mind. All apps aim to meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards, including proper heading structure, keyboard navigation, screen reader support, and sufficient color contrast in both light and dark modes.

If you encounter an accessibility barrier, please report it. Accessibility issues are treated as high priority.

Community project

Fair Lawn Apps is a community project. Bug reports, ideas, and suggestions are welcome through the feedback page.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date. Continued use of Fair Lawn Apps after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
